Valamir Ulric de Spruys is a human noble from the Helsingfyrd Pact, known for his flamboyant rhetoric, radical wit, and confrontational demeanor. A scion of the cadet branch of House de Spruys, Valamir styles himself as the public face of a so-called mortal renaissance within Pact society, challenging undead dominance through oratory, satire, and social maneuvering.

Born in the city of Ostholt, on the Hopgon Coast, de Spruys was educated in the finest schools of Helsingfyrd, where he developed a reputation as a wit and raconteur. Valamir spent his teenage years and young adulthood travelling through the growing Azure Empire. While there, he developed an affinity for Azurean culture, and began to doubt the social system of the Helsingfyrd Pact, predicated on undead dominance and strict social hierarchy.

Inspired by his time in the Azure Empire, he returned to the Helsingfyrd Pact with the belief that its society is inferior and outmoded, compared to the rising Azure power in the south. He believes that ending the strict social caste system is key to unlocking the power of the Helsingfyrd Pact, and is one of the leading philo-Azureans in the Pact. Though not widely accepted by Pact nobility, Valamir has developed a substantial following among a wide variety of dissident mortals, nationalist lycanthropes, and exiled intellectuals, who admire him for his wit, wisdom, and anti-establishment views. He frequently appears at salons, dueling exhibitions, and political gatherings across the Pact, where his speeches blur the line between performance and subversion.

Recently, de Spruys was appointed as Helskari Ambassador to the Free City of Westport by the government of the Helsingfyrd Pact. Some in the know speculate that he was sent abroad by the Helskari government so he would not cause any problems for the government. Outside of politics, oratory, and dueling, he is known for his love of wine and women, and cultivates an image as an intellectual playboy of sorts.
